Great white lake, volcano trip

Sometimes it is called as Terkhiin Tsagaan Nuur, is a dead volcano lake area. Rich of fish and different birds are breeding here.

Itinerary Program:

  • Day 1
    Drive to Kharkhorin, the ancient capital

    Visit to Erdenezuu Monastery, the first Buddhist monastery in Mongolia. It was founded in 1586. Surrounded by a quadratic wall (420 m long on each side) with total 108 Stupas. Electricity is available, but not modern toilet and shower. Overnight stay in a guesthouse.

  • Day 2
    Drive to “Tsenkher” hot spring, in Arkhangai aimag

    Overnight stay in a tourist camp. Tsenher is a natural hot spring that flows the whole year from the ground at 85 Celsius degree. The spring comes out from far deep part of the ground and its water is not mixed with soil waters because it is hot. The water has high mineral content and contains everything from simple calcium, sodium to sulphuric. The spring produces water that is good for health and the water is effective for joints, nervous system and considered good for many other diseases. The surrounding area is home of medicinal herbs. There separate pools for women and men. Only ger is available as for accommodation, in the tourist camp. Communal shower, modern toilet, electricity and restaurants is available.

  • Day 3
    Great White lake (Khorgo Volcano lake), via Chuluut canyon.

    Sometimes it is called as Terkhiin Tsagaan Nuur, is a dead volcano lake area. Rich of fish and different birds are breeding here. The beautiful lake is most attractive place in Mongolia despite frozen till June. The National Park is attractive its lava fields, pine trees, natural fruits, bird life, mountains and hidden caves and gaps in underground. The Chuluut canyon is a river runs from Khangai mountain range. It is rich of pike, over 1 meter long. Electricity, modern toilet and shower are not available. Overnight stay with a nomadic family’s ger.

    Drive to Battsengel field

    This nomad family has horse (not for riding), cow, sheep and goats. Electricity, modern toilet and shower are not available. Overnight stay with a nomadic family’s ger.

  • Day 6
    Drive to Small Sand Dune (semi- Gobi)

    Electricity, modern toilet and shower are not available. Overnight stay with a nomadic family’s ger.

  • Day 7
    Drive back to UB
